Went to Sozo to last week discuss some work stuff.

Went really casual and summerish today~with a t-shirt, shorts, over-knee socks
and a jacket tie over to add on to the *feel*
and of course, a FAB bag ^_^

I went and got my nails done in this color for the Vocaloid photoshoot
I love this color~~ its soo pretty and it compliments the skin sooo well





and in the evening, helped out Miyake with her Hatsune Miku photoshoot
While Miyake was changing and putting on her wig,

I decided to go AFRO-TASTIC!!
The studio had a brown afro laying around, and i couldnt resist not putting it on!

Today's Japan's coming of Age Day

"Coming of Age Day is celebrated Annually on the 2nd Monday of January. It's a celebration to congratulate young adults who have reached adulthood.(in Japan, 20years old)"


Girls usually dress up in Kimono and attend their 成人式 Adult day ceremony.
Then followed by a photo taking session with their family and then comes the after party.
1)Drinking with friends. (legal age is 20)
2)Going to Tokyo Disneyland

what's in the name??

Of all of the personal questions, i think this question ranks as one of the
top 3 most asked question

Why is your name Ferlyn Yoshimi??


I shall address this question once and for all.
My full name is
Ferlyn Paige Tan Jia Mei

Yoshimi is not in my full name but it is STILL my name.
My chinese name Jia Mei is written 佳美

My chinese name 佳美, so happens to be a very common name is Japan.
佳美 directly translate to Yoshimi, よしみ= 佳美

So since its a common name and its my name and its a really pretty name i decided to use it.
I dont introduce myself as Yoshimi unless the person is Japanese.


Why?
1) Its really hard for Japanese to pronounce my english name Ferlyn
2) Yoshimi is easier for them to remember
3) Its more relatable since its a common Japanese name.

most importantly

I lived in Tokyo and so living by the name Yoshimi is much easier as to having most of my friends with a difficulty pronouncing my name and making both parties feel awkward about it



and so.....
Together with my enligsh name
Ferlyn Yoshimi
sounds really nice~ so i decided to use that as my blog name

2009 was a really tough year personally, although the year really turn around at the last quarter of the year and i really learned and had tons of fun with it. Do hope that continues on this year~


I use to always have big new year's resolution and its really bullshit.
so this year i'm just going to enjoy every day as it is.


As for my new year's resolution this year,
Its just to live each day to the fullest and enjoy life as it comes


Because yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the "present."
